About Katherine
A QUICK LOOK INTO THE PAST
-
When I was little, I loved sitting at my Grandma’s vanity – opening all the drawers, inspecting all of the makeup and smelling the beautiful perfume bottles.
-
When I was 8 or 9, I begged my Mom to let me wear red lipstick out of the house (spoiler alert: she said no).
-
As a teenager, I was an aspiring scene kid – I wore neon eyeliner and bright lipstick and rocked a “fashion mullet.”
-
In my 20s, I became a true makeup enthusiast, and started to collect makeup. I didn’t wear it every day, but I found applying it cathartic (and I still do!)
When I turned 30, I was hit with vestibular migraine out of nowhere. It became impossible for me to continue my 8-5 job, sitting in front of a computer all day. I knew I needed to make a major career change – one that would allow me to work less but still earn a living. So I did it. I started reaching out to people and making connections, and my career officially began.
My first gig was a multi-day corporate video shoot for Campbell’s Soup Company. I immediately developed a passion for being on set, and seeing my work on camera. I dove into opera and theatre right away- I worked with The Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia on three operas performed at The Kimmel Center, and was the Assistant to the Makeup and Wig Designer for Mrs. Murray’s Menagerie, an off-Broadway play at Ars Nova in New York City. During this time, I also started to work directly with a photographer, doing makeup and hair for glamorous portraits of the “everyday woman.” And that was all just 2019!
I took a bit of a break in 2020 due to the Pon de Replay (Pan-Demi- Lovato, if you prefer?). In 2021, I was VERY ready to be busy again. I was hired to work on a bridal beauty team, and I loved it right away! I truly love connecting with brides, and getting to meet their closest friends and family. Being a part of what will hopefully be one of the best days of your life, is genuinely such an honor. Learn more about working together on your wedding day here --
While continuing with bridal work, my weekdays have often been spent on the set of corporate videos for global giants like Merck, Johnson & Johnson, and Munich RE, commercials for political candidates, and the heartwrenching documentary Twin Flames (coming soon to Netflix).
